Officers met with an individual at the police department, who lives in the area of Gray Avenue, about her air conditioner unit that was stolen by other tenants. She has decided not to press charges at this time.

Officers responded to Stop & Shop for a report of vehicle theft. Officers obtained a photo from video footage and a social media post was made to identify the suspect. Albermarle Police Department located the stolen vehicle in Charlottesville, VA. It was unoccupied and no damage was reported.

Officers responded to the 00 Block of W Cork St for report of an active fight with weapons. An intoxicated male took a pool stick and hit two other males over their heads. Daniel Shadwell, 53, of Winchester VA, was arrested for Malicious Wounding and Drunk in Public.

Officers conducted a traffic stop near the 300 Block of Smithfield Ave. The driver exited the vehicle, dropping a baggie with several pills inside. When attempting to detain the driver, he ran away on foot, and fled the scene. Tony Rush, 58 of Winchester VA, is wanted for Felony Eluding, Driving Revoked, and Obstruction of Justice.

Officers responded to a delayed report of a burglary in the 1100 block of Berryville Avenue. Three suspects entered the private property and were seen on video footage stealing various items. Case is under investigation.

Officers responded to the area of Cedar Creek Grade and Valley Avenue and observed a subject that they suspected to be intoxicated in public. During the investigation, officers located suspected drug paraphernalia. Michael Labonte, 62, of Winchester, was charged with public intoxication as well as possession of a controlled substance.

During a traffic stop, officers discovered unmarked pills in the vehicle. Devan Coffinberger, 46, of Stephenson, was issued a summons for driving without a license. Additional charges are pending further investigation.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Van Fossen Street for a possible trespassing. A vehicle search was conducted and suspected drug paraphernalia was located. Barron Gordon, 40, of Winchester, VA, and Amber Miles, 41, of Hagerstown MD, were charged with trespassing.

A School Resource Officer responded to Melvin Rhodes Academy’s main office for a report of a weapon (box cutter) found in a student’s backpack. The weapon was confiscated and the investigation is ongoing in collaboration with Winchester Public Schools.

Officers responded to the 200 block of South Kent Street for a report of an individual brandishing a firearm. Three unknown suspects entered a residence, and one pointed a gun at the victim. Kevin Malsch, 20, of Winchester, VA, was charged with public intoxication, Camden Reddy, 21, of Winchester, VA, was charged with brandishing a firearm, and Jaylon Burks, 23, of Maurertown, VA, was charged with drunk in public and breaking and entering.
