WPD Responds to Incident at Wood Ave

On February 15th, 2026, at approximately 7:43pm, Winchester Police officers responded to the 100 block of Wood Avenue for an isolated incident of an individual making threats to harm themselves with a knife.
Officers evacuated several occupants from the residence and set up a perimeter. After hours of negotiations from Officers, SWAT, and Crisis Negotiations, the individual was taken into custody at 12:17am for an Emergency Custody Order and transported to the hospital. The situation was resolved safely.
