WPD Assists PGPD in Arrest

On January 15, 2025, the Winchester Police Department assisted Prince George’s County Police Department with the arrest of Brandon Leonard, 21, who was wanted in connection with a murder in their jurisdiction.
Prince George’s County detectives believed the male to be staying at a residence in the 500 block of Fairmont Ave, Winchester, VA. Detectives from the Winchester Police Department, Deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, and officers from Prince George County Police Department conducted an investigation and Leonard was arrested on the outstanding warrant out of Maryland. A fugitive for justice warrant was obtained for Leonard and he was held at the NRADC.
Detectives from the Winchester Police Department assisted Prince George’s County Police Department with obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle Leonard was in and the residence he was staying at in the 500 block of Fairview Ave.
