Published on April 24, 2026
WINCHESTER, Va. — Officers with the Winchester Police Department responded Thursday to a reported robbery in the 200 block of Opequon Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers detained a suspect identified as Tyriek Loftin. During the investigation, officers spoke with the victim, who reported that a verbal altercation had occurred prior to the incident. The victim stated that during the argument, Loftin produced a knife.
At the time of his detention, Loftin was found to have a self-inflicted cut to his hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Following the investigation, an officer obtained a warrant charging Loftin with attempted malicious wounding. After receiving medical clearance, Loftin was transported to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center, where he was served the warrant and is currently being held without bond.
This incident remains under investigation.
