Winchester Police Department daily reports now available online

In order to increase transparency, the Winchester Police Department’s (WPD) Arrest Log and Call Briefing Blotter reports are now available on the WPD’s official website under the Information tab.

“One of the goals outlined in the City’s strategic plan is to improve City services by promoting a culture of transparency, efficiency, and innovation. By making these reports available to the public on our website, we are taking a step toward achieving that goal,” stated Lt. Amanda Behan, the media liaison officer for the WPD. “We are placing those reports directly into the hands of the public to be accessed anytime, anywhere.”

Traditionally, these reports were sent to the local media each morning and included data from the past 24 hours. The media liaison or public information officer of the WPD would respond to any inquiries from media representatives and provide more detailed information regarding calls for service or arrests. Media representatives are still encouraged to submit inquires to Lt. Behan, but the reports will no longer be sent daily via email. All reports from January 2018 and forward will be accessible online.
