Police address recent suspicious event at S. Loudoun intersection

On September 13, the Winchester Police Department received a report of suspicious activity at the intersection of South Loudoun Street and Featherbed Lane.

The reporting citizen described sitting in her vehicle at the stoplight on South Loudon Street as she approached Featherbed Lane at approximately 4:45 p.m. when the passenger of another vehicle motioned toward her vehicle door and stated, “ma’am your keys.” As the passenger opened his door and began to step out of the vehicle, described as a clean, black minivan with California license plates, the reporting citizen quickly drove through the intersection. The black minivan then remained behind her while she traveled on Jubal Early Drive until she made a left turn.

The passenger is described as a black male in his twenties, clean cut and wearing nice clothes, who spoke with an accent. The driver of the vehicle is also described as a black male, possibly with a beard. The victim was unable to provide a description for the third passenger due to tinted windows.

While this was an isolated incident, the event has been heavily circulated on social media and has caused concern for residents. The WPD would like to remind residents to always be aware of their surroundings, keep their doors locked, and report any suspicious activity. If anyone sees this vehicle or is approached by its passengers, please call the Winchester Police Department at (540) 662-4131.
