On December 17 at approximately 4:13 p.m., Winchester Police Department officers arrested Hugo Antonio Castillo, 20, of Gainesville, VA, and Joseph Tanner, Jr., 19, of Winchester, after finding a large quantity of marijuana, paraphernalia, and cash in their residence. The men are being charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Officers arrived at the residence in the 100 block of Purcell Avenue to serve a capias warrant when they smelled a heavy odor of marijuana coming from inside. After a search warrant had been obtained, officers found approximately ¾ of a pound of marijuana, nearly $7,000 of U.S. currency, THC wax and oil, and multiple drug paraphernalia items including scales, plastic bags, and smoking devices.
Castillo and Tanner, Jr. are being held at the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center on $3,000 secure bonds.
