Winchester Police Department to celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day

On October 4, from 7-10 a.m., officers with the Winchester Police Department will be stationed at three local coffee shops to celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day.

The purpose of National Coffee with a Cop Day is to connect officers around the country with the citizens in their communities. In Winchester, Steamy’s and Moe’s Donut Shop on E. Piccadilly Street and the Daily Grind on Jubal Early Drive will be hosting the casual gatherings. The public is encouraged to stop in to any of these three coffee shops to meet and speak candidly with some of our community’s dedicated officers.

National Coffee with a Cop Day began in Hawthorne, California in 2011. As of 2016, it was celebrated in all 50 states and 15 countries. The annual event was established in October of last year, and it will continue to be held on the first Wednesday of every October.
