Police Investigate Shooting into Occupied Dwelling


On January 5, 2017, at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to the 900 block of N. Braddock Street for a report of shots fired.  Officers arrived and determined the gunshot was fired from inside a residence in the 900 block of North Braddock Street.  A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence.


The investigation resulted in a 17 year old juvenile from Front Royal, Virginia being charged with Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile.  The male was transported to Juvenile Intake.


A stolen weapon was recovered in this investigation.  There were other occupants inside the residence when the weapon was fired, however no injuries were reported.
