Officers apprehend man at DUI checkpoint for his involvement in a Warren County shooting

On December 7, 2019 at approximately 1:50 a.m., Winchester police arrested George Lee Good, 28, of Front Royal, VA, for outstanding warrants during a DUI checkpoint held in the 900 block of S. Pleasant Valley Road. Good approached the checkpoint driving a 2015 Mitsubishi passenger car and provided false information to the officers about his identity. After a brief investigation, Good was positively identified.

George Good was taken into custody, without incident, for charges surrounding a November 27, 2019 shooting incident in Warren County, VA. A search of Good and his vehicle yielded two firearms and ammunition. An unknown crystal-like substance was also located and will be sent to the Forensic Lab for examination. Winchester police placed additional charges against Good for false identification to law enforcement, driving on a suspended license, and being a felon in possession of a weapon. Additional charges surrounding the unknown substance are pending.

Good was transported to the Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center, where he was held without bond.
