Armed robbery suspects arrested


At approximately 5:08 a.m. this morning, Winchester Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 700 block of North Loudoun Street. Officers have arrested the suspects, 23-year-old Daniel Payano and 22-year-old Elvin Gervasio, of New York, New York.


Employees at the convenience store told police that two males with dark complexions – one wearing a mask and partially displaying a hand-gun - entered the store and demanded money. The employees complied, and the suspects left. Officers were able to obtain descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. With assistance from the Virginia State Police, officers located the suspects inside a residence in the 800 block of Thomas Court. Several airsoft pistols were seized after executing a search warrant at 815-13 Thomas Court.


Payano and Gervasio were arrested on charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and are being held at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
