On February 18, 2017 at approximately 9:42 p.m., officers with the Winchester Police Department responded to the 300 block of National Avenue for a report of shots fired. After securing the crime scene and speaking with witnesses, officers determined that a 26-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at the scene by Winchester Fire and Rescue personnel, but declined transportation to the hospital.
The Winchester Police Department believes this was not a random act of violence, and the public is not in danger.
