Winchester Police to host inaugural Badges & Batter pancake breakfast

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) will host its first-ever Badges & Batter pancake breakfast on Friday, March 16th from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The breakfast will be held at the Moose Lodge, located at 215 E. Cork Street in Winchester.

WPD officers are excited for this new opportunity to meet and interact with members of the community. “Often times citizens can get the wrong perception of police officers because of something they hear or read,” stated K-9 Master Patrol Officer Brittney Kotynski-Neer. “I also think police officers enter this profession and become disillusioned when it feels as though we aren't making the difference we had hoped to make in society. These community outreach events, though they may seem small to some, are a fantastic way for officers and citizens to get together, share a laugh with a bite to eat, and work on changing those perceptions and feelings.”

Master Patrol Officer Aaron Cave is taking charge of the event alongside Kotynski-Neer. Cave is excited about the breakfast as he wants to “…give Winchester residents and police officers a chance to interact and get to know each other a little more. It will be a great experience for everyone.”

The community is invited to attend this free breakfast and enjoy being waited on by WPD officers, who will both cook and serve the pancakes. In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, special green pancakes with Lucky Charms will be available for children.

The WPD is partnering with members of the Moose Lodge to provide this new community program and would like to thank them for their support.
