Police seize $30,000 worth of narcotics, firearm during search

A California man was arrested on April 29, 2022 at approximately 11:00 a.m. after a search of a motel room. The proactive enforcement efforts of officers with the Winchester Police Department led to a search of a room, located in the 2600 block of Valley Avenue, where contraband was seized. 

 

During the search, officers located a backpack containing $5,478 in U.S. Currency, a stolen 9mm handgun, and approximately:

  • 8 ounces of Methamphetamine
  • 27 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • ¼ pound of Marijuana
  • 2.5 ounces of Psychedelic Mushrooms
  • 75 Ecstasy pills 

 

As a result of the investigation, Obamdidamu Dehavalandrasheed Newton, 35 years old, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent X5, Possession of a Firearm while on Possession of Narcotics, Possession of a Firearm after being convicted of a felony, and Possession of Stolen Firearm.
