Police investigating early morning shooting

UPDATE: Shooting suspect has been identified

The Winchester Police Department has obtained warrants in connection to a shooting incident investigated in the early morning hours of April 15th (see release below).  Brian Maurice Scott, a black male (34) of the 200 block of E. Whitlock Avenue has been identified as a suspect and is now wanted on three felony charges: felon in possession of a weapon, discharging a firearm in public, and aggravated malicious wounding.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are pending.  Anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of Scott are asked to contact the Winchester Police Department at 540-662-4131 or Crimesolvers at 540-665-TIPS where you can remain anonymous.

 

Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting

Winchester Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 400 block of N. Kent Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. Officers arrived on scene and identified three males who each suffered gunshot wounds. They were transported to the Winchester Medical Center by Winchester Fire and Rescue units.  Their injuries are described as serious. The two male suspects have not been located at this time, but left their vehicle on N. Kent Street and fled the scene on foot.  It is described as a 2002 Lexus passenger car. The male suspects are described as black, one with a thin build wearing a black shirt with yellow writing and one with a heavy build and dreadlocks. Officers and Detectives, who are being assisted by Virginia State Police and Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, are still at the scene of the incident processing evidence and obtaining further information.
