City woman robs taxi driver at knifepoint

At approximately 9:05 a.m. on May 24, 2018, Winchester Police (WPD) officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Harvest Drive in response to a robbery that had just occurred.

The victim, a taxi driver, reported that a female subject that she had picked up in the downtown area displayed a knife and took the driver’s cash and cell phone. The taxi driver was not injured. The female then fled from the scene in a black Chevy Sonic that was driven by an unknown person. Winchester Police located the vehicle in the 300 block of North Loudoun Street, near the location where the taxi driver had originally picked up the female.

Officers canvassed the area and located the female in a residence in the 300 block of North Loudoun Street. She was identified as Lydia Honaker, 46, of Winchester. At the time of this release, Honaker was being processed at Northwest Regional Adult Detention Center and charged with robbery (18.2-58). The investigation into the identity of the other driver involved is ongoing.
