Winchester Police to host second-annual North End Summer Kickoff

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) will host its second-annual North End Summer Kickoff event at Frederick Douglass Park, 598 N. Kent Street, from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019.

“We’re excited to bring this block party back for a second year, and we hope to see even more residents attend this summer,” stated event organizer Lt. Amanda Behan. “We want our community members to come out and enjoy the good food, games, music, and overall ‘family reunion’ atmosphere of the event.”

The WPD will be serving subs and chips from Anthony’s Pizza, free of charge for attendees. K-9 Riggs and his handler, Corporal Sean O’Connor, will make a guest appearance. Same as last year, attendees can play basketball, kickball, cornhole, and more games and activities with officers.

The event is free and all age groups are welcome.
