House Fire Under Investigation
On Thursday, June 27, 2013 the Winchester Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched at 6:47 p.m. for a house fire at 320-A North Kent Street. Units arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the call and saw fire coming out of the front and left side of the house. The bulk of the fire on the first floor was knocked down within 12 minutes. The house is divided into two apartments; one upstairs and one downstairs. All residents were able to escape the house unharmed.
Thirteen fire and rescue units from Winchester and Frederick County responded to the fire. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Winchester Fire and Rescue Departmentís Fire Marshals and the Winchester Police Department.
The Red Cross and CCAP responded to the scene to assist the residents.
