Bank Robber Arrested
A man wanted by Winchester Police for robbing United Bank was arrested Sunday morning in Maryland. Winchester Police received a tip Saturday identifying the bank robbery suspect as 45-year-old Charles Franklin Adams, III of Stephens City. The tipster saw surveillance pictures that were released on the Winchester Police Department’s Facebook page. Winchester Police obtained warrants for Adams on bank robbery Saturday evening. Adams was arrested around 9 a.m. Sunday in Howard County, Maryland during a traffic stop. He was in the same truck that he was seen driving following the bank robbery. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (Virginia) also had outstanding warrants on Adams for one misdemeanor count of stealing checks, one count of grand larceny, and four counts of forgery.
