Q: Whom do I call about crime prevention and neighborhood watch programs?

A: We have 2 Crime Prevention officers and 1 Civilian Crime Prevention Resource person. The officers are Sergeant Robert Gaither (540) 545-4730 x1047 and Corporal Greg Voorhees (540) 545-4730 x1825. You can reach the Crime Prevention Resource Officer Amy Stotlemyer at (540) 545-4722.

Q: Does Winchester have a Neighborhood Watch Program?

A: Yes. It is an active program of citizens working in partnership with the police and the city. Meeting dates and topics are determined by each group and the police department facilitates the meeting by reserving the location and the event and the speaker. Neighborhoods without its own association can unite and form one. We can assist your neighborhood in organizing one.

Q: How can I secure my home?

A: We have a detailed checklist for residents to follow. The checklist includes locks, lighting, trimming shrubbery. We can also provide a security assessment of your resident to assist in making your home a little more secure. Q: Do you fingerprint children?

A: We fingerprint children at The Community Wellness Fair which is held at the Apple Blossom Mall, this event is held annually in February.
